The Registry Office

Once you have made a provisional booking for the date you wish to be married, you will need to contact the Registrar's Office in Whitehaven.

The registrar will let you know of the costs involved and the relevant paperwork that needs to be completed before you can get married. 852690

The Ceremony

There is a choice of vows which can be taken and you may also choose to have music played or a poetry reading, however, these must not be of a religious nature.

Approximately thirty minutes before the ceremony, the Groom will meet the registrar, and then go into the marriage room.

The Bride will see the registrar fifteen minutes before the ceremony for a private interview.

During this time the guests are seated in the marriage room.

Two witnesses must be chosen to sign the register before the marriage ceremony takes place.
